The economy is digital, and can be obtained through the selling of various items to NPCs at the Isle of Concordium, at spawn.
In the Isle of Concordium, there is a large building in the northern area of the town, which houses three NPCs where you can sell Gold, Emeralds, and Diamonds. Gold is the base, selling for 1 Coin each. Emeralds sell for 0.50 Coins, and Diamond sells for 6 Coins. Additionally, there is also an NPC in the southern area, called Fisherman San Gee, where you can sell the server's Custom Fish to. There is also an NPC called Farmer Josef, who buys certain crops. Each IoC settlement contains these basic NPCs.
As of 7/5/25, there are now Daily Quests, that allow you to complete quests once per day in exchange for server currency.

Towny is a plugin for a Bukkit modded Minecraft server. The plugin itself is a manager for a Resident-Town-Nation hierarchy, as well as a block permission manager for a grid-like protection system. Each town has a mayor, while a nation has a king. They both have their own assistants to help run their respective people. Players can also purchase land from the town, as well as an optional daily tax set by the mayor. The player can allow his friends from out of town to build on his land when even his very own town's people can't build if he so wishes.
The basis of protection follows under how the world is separated into chunks. For those unaware, minecraft servers are broken up into 16x16x384 sections of blocks. The 384 being the height from the bedrock floor to the clouds in the sky. The protection ignores the height and focuses on the x and z planes. The default size for grid squares is 16x16, similar to the chunk size (configurable when you start using towny). So claiming a townblock (a grid square) allows that section of land to follow your town's or the plot owner's permissions.
Each town can claim up to a certain amount of townblocks, a set ratio or amount configured in the setting that is relative to the amount of players taking residence in that town. Residents themselves have no limit on how many they claim, however the daily tax (when using alongside an economy plugin) will take a bite out of their resources. The money is tunnelled to the town's bank account that only the mayor can withdraw from, except if the town belongs to a nation. Any town belonging to a nation may be required to pay the nation a daily upkeep as well.
Towns and Nations have their own rank system attributed to them. The founder of a town or nation have full permissions for the town or nation. There are also War Ranks that have certain paygrades to them; lower tier rank gets a lower pay grade.

Any player may only fight 3 Sieges per week, and each nation may only have 3 active sieges at a time.
The nation deposits 10 Coins/plot into a War Chest, with a 2 Coin/plot up front cost (nonrecoverable):
This money will be automatically recovered later, by the eventual winner of the siege.
PVP is force-enabled in a 50 block radius around the Siege Banner (the Siege Zone).
Before a Siege begins, and after a Siege Banner is placed, a Siege Assembly begins. This is a 'King of the Hill' stage where you need to amass 50 points within 10 minutes by standing in the radius to start a Siege.

A Battle Session must be active for players to gain Battle Points.

As an Official Siege Participant (a military-ranked member of one of the teams), walk into the Banner Capture Zone (a 16 block radius around the Siege-Banner). A Banner Capture Session will start.
Remain alive for 5 minutes, then you will Capture the Banner for your team, and will be added to the Banner Control List.
Your team will automatically get 10 Battle Points each minute for each player on the Banner Control List.
Kill Enemy Players:
As a soldier in the Siege-Zone, kill an enemy Official Siege Participant of military rank, for a reward of 150 Battle Points.
Win Battle:
When the Battle Session ends, the team with the best Battle Points score is declared the battle-winner. Both teams get their battle points applied to the Siege Balance.
The Siege Balance is not capped, and is added together at the end of the end of a session for the total.
Win Siege:
When the siege ends:
If the Siege Balance is greater than zero, the attacker is declared the siege-winner, otherwise the defender is declared the siege-winner.
The besieged town receives Siege Immunity, for x3 times the duration of the siege. Siege Immunity protects the town from further attacks.
The besieged town also receives Revolt Immunity for 75% the duration of the Siege Immunity. Revolt Immunity stops the town from revolting.
Abandoning an Attack:
As a siege attacker, you can place an all-white banner in the wilderness close to the town to abandon the attack.
Surrendering as a Defender:
As a siege defender, you can place an all-white banner in the wilderness close the the town to surrender the defense.
Plundering a Town:
As king or general whose nation has won a siege, place a chest in the wilderness close to the town.
This action will rob the town of 10 Coins/plot, and deposit it in the nation bank.
A plundered town cannot fall due to the money loss (it can only go 'bankrupt', preserving the town completely but blocking building/claiming/recruitment).
Invading a Town:
As king or general whose nation has won a siege, place a non-white banner in the wilderness near the town. This action will invade the town, setting the victorious nation to be its occupier.
The occupied town remains a full part of the home nation, except for the following areas, where it is considered a part of the occupying nation:
Dynmap color.
Nation rankings (/n list).
Nation bonus plot generation.
As the mayor of a town which has been defeated in a siege and invaded, you have a few options.
Free yourself via a Revolt Siege:
Place a non-white banner outside the town.
If the town wins, the occupation will be removed.
If the town loses, the occupier can plunder.
Get a friendly nation to free the town using a Liberation Siege:
The king/general from the friendly nation starts this siege by placing a non-white banner outside the town.
If the Liberator wins, the occupation will be removed.
The Liberator can (optionally) plunder and/or invade.
If the Liberator loses, the occupier can plunder and/or invade.
Fight off a Suppression siege by the occupier:
The king/general from the occupying nation starts this siege by placing a non-white banner outside the town.
If the occupier wins, they can plunder and/or invade, and the revolt timer is reset.
If the occupier loses, the occupation is removed.
On Ruby Civilizations, there is a plugin called Brewery which allows you to create custom drinks with drunkenness and other effects.
To create drinks, follow these steps as a guide.
Fermenting: Place Cauldron over a Fire or other heat source. Fill it with water. Add Ingredients with a rightclick. Wait a few minutes while they ferment. Fill in glass bottles.
Distilling: Some Recipes don't need distilling. Put the bottle with ferment into the brewing stand. Put glowstone dust as filter on top into the brewing stand (The filter will not be consumed)
Aging: A barrel is needed for aging of certain drinks. Starting in 1.14 the Minecraft-Barrel can be used for aging of a few brews. Simply craft and place the barrel and put the brews inside. You can also build bigger barrels. They can be built in two ways:
Small barrel | 9 Slots: Use 8 wooden stairs to build a barrel shape. Place a Sign on the lower right side and write "Barrel" in the upper Line. Image here.
Big barrel | 27 Slots: Use 5 Fences, 16 Wooden stairs, and 18 wood planks to build a barrel shape. Attach a Spigot (Fence) and a Sign that has "Barrel" written on it. Image here.
Each barrel can be opened by right clicking.
Drinking: The Amount of Alcohol inside the Brew will be applied to the player when drinking. Depending on the quality of it, that may have different effects.
The Player may not be able to walk normally anymore, he will weave, making it almost impossible to walk straight
Effects like Blindness, Confusion, Poison etc. occur
The Chat will be altered depending on drunkeness, many things players write may be incomprehensible, sometimes it seems senseless
If the Alcohol particularly strong, it may have poisonous effects
After drinking a lot, there is a chance of vomiting
When logging off, the player may have difficulties reaching his character, thus some logins shortly after may be denied
After Overdrinking the player may faint (Disconnecting)
After drinking it takes a while until the alcohol is completely gone. During that time the alcohol level is steadily decreasing. When logging off extremely drunk, it may happen that, if the player logs back in after a while, he may find himself at an completely unknown place in the middle of nowhere having no idea how he got there. Also if the Alcohol was not of best quality, the player may face some bad type of hangover (slowness and hunger).
Normal Brewery drinks can be found here.

Q: Can I teleport?
A: Only to a degree. You may only regularly teleport to your own town and your own nation.
Q: Why can't I make my own Nether Portals?
A: To facilitate actual land trade and exploration, the Nether is locked to a single portal available in the Isle of Concordium (Spawn).
Q: Will the End open?
A: Yes, the End will open in a lore-based event.
Q: Will you update the server to future versions?
A: It is hard to say. With Minecraft's new direction with faster paced update releases, and how slow plugins update, I am not sure how quickly I will update the server.
Q: How can I display an item to chat?
A: Type /show while holding the item in your hand.
Q: How can I report something?
A: Make a ticket with /ticket create <message> and Staff will respond and resolve your ticket.
Q: Is there a way I can make minecarts faster?
A: Minecarts are very fast already, especially with the Minecart Experiment Datapack.
Q: What's the world size? Will it ever be expanded?
A: 25,000 x 25,000 blocks. It is possible that the world might be expanded, if it comes to a point where it needs it.
Q: How can I select a class?
A: To select your Ruby Class, execute the command /class, and click the middle button to open the Class Selection screen. Once you select a class, the /class command will no longer bring you to the Class Selection screen, so you may only choose once. However, on special occasions, you can possibly obtain the Ruby Class Selection Orb through special events, allowing you to choose a different class.
